Vicentes Sweet Habanero-(Capsicum chinense)-The Vicentes Sweet Habanero is reported to have its origin in Venezuela but is now found in many Islands north of there. Some say they name comes from St. Vincents. The heat level is mild to medium and the flavor is very fruity sweet. It has a very aromatic smell to it like many other seasoning peppers from that region. The Vicentes Sweet habanero peppers folds or grooves in the outer skin like some bonnets and they ripen from green to red. The fruit can be blocky or round shaped and are just over an inch in diameter. The Vicentes Sweet Habanero chile plants grow 3 to 4 feet tall and produce very well. They are great for seasoning dishes, salsa, sauces and salads.

The fruit is about 3 inches—almost the size of a peach—with a yellow rind and fruity-tasting white flesh. They start out green and then turn yellow as they ripen.
You can spot a perfectly ripe melon in the same way you would a mango. It should feel heavier than it looks and have a slightly sweet aroma. Press gently on the end furthest from the stem—this should be slightly soft. Most of mine pulled away from the vine very easily.
